Project Grant Application
Do you have a park or trail project that needs some help to make it a fantastic experience?
The Interior Alaska Trails and Parks Foundation (IATPF) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that receives donations from the private sector. These donations are used for developing and maintaining public recreation trails and park facilities in the greater Fairbanks area.
The IATPF is accepting project funding proposals to repair and maintain public recreation trails and park facilities. Previous IATPF funded projects have included trailhead kiosks and improvements, supporting volunteer trail projects, brushing the Alaska Dog Mushing Association race trails, and organizing volunteer crews for trail projects.
Your project proposal should address the following criteria when completing the grant application:
Project funding is limited to $10,000/year (multiple funding sources may be combined).
Project provides or maintains legal public access.
Project can be completed within timeframe stated.
Project has any needed permits or permissions prior to beginning.
Project uses professional contractors for equipment operations.
How the project follows principals of sustainable design and construction.
How the project improves visitor and user safety.
How the project provides protection to natural resources.
How the project preserves an existing facility or structure.
How the project improves the visitor or user experience.
How the project improves connectivity of an existing system.
Obtaining permission of the land owners and/or any permits needed to complete the project is the responsibility of the project proponent. IATPF can assist with project design, applying for permits, and contracting equipment operators. Projects must be completed within two years of the grant award. A final report will be due at the completion of the project.
Applicants seeking IATPF funding must complete the following Application for IATPF Project Funding and submit the project grant application and any attachments by email to iatpfoundation@gmail.com by March 30th.
